LESSONS

Practicing
It's all about the practicing, isn't it?  As a teacher for many years, I understand that the student who knows how to practice is the student who progresses quickly.  Therefore, I teach my students not only the importance of practice, but how to practice, saving them hours of ineffective practicing.  I motivate my students with a reward points system.  See here for details.

Lessons
I teach note reading, rhythm, sight reading, theory, technique and music history.

Group Lessons
I have a group lesson twice a year that replaces a private lesson for that month.  At group lessons students have an opportunity to perform and hear others perform.  We also play games that teach and reinforce music theory, music history, composition and more.

Recitals
Students play at two recitals a year.  My studio recitals are a little crazy, full of surprises, and lots of fun - not like your grandma's recitals. :)
